The height and width can be independently adjusted for safety that envelopes their head and shoulders up to 12 years of age. A simple-to-use dial on the back adjusts the width of the seat to fit a child's shoulders up to 20 inches wide, while the headrest adjusts up to 6.4 inches in height with one hand for an easy, precise fit. The remodeled headrest is lined with thick EPP foam for better child comfort and improved side impact performance, combined with deeper side wings and Diono's 4-layer Side Impact Protection System.

From the EPP foam coating to the molded rigid shell casing and EPS coated outer shell, every detail has been lovingly engineered to keep your little one safe, mile after mile. The ergonomically contoured seat base improves the child's seating position with luxury AIRTEK foam cushioning for total comfort. Breathable exo-shell side panels have been added to enhance airflow and keep them cool on the move.

The width of the vehicle seatback has been reduced to make installation easier, improving access to vehicle seatbelts and promoting independent buckling. Two built-in retractable 2-in-1 cup holders and snack trays keep your big kid's drink close at hand and stow away their essentials. The contoured premium soft fabrics with layered foam padding provide comfort and support, and can be easily removed for machine washing. SafePlus belt guides provide easy access to the seatbelt buckle to help your big kid with self-buckling.

The Monterey 4DXT is engineered with automotive steel LATCH connectors and 2 easy-adjust LATCH straps for quick, secure installation. Its rigid shell is reinforced with 2 layers of high-impact aluminum and EPS energy-absorbing foam to protect the head, shoulders, and torso in the event of a side impact.
